The Men in My Life | The Braid
9m 25s
The daughter of a white Jewish mother and half-Black, half-Chinese father is raised without discussion of race because her mom was color blind and wanted to believe the rest of the world was too. But this utopian ideal is not the reality she experiences growing up. Instead, she feels like an outsider, living on the fringe. Surviving the pitfalls of her journey through school as well as her mother’s untimely death, her single dad steps up as a true mensch. She finds love with a Ghanaian immigrant, who seals the deal with a surprise gift that melds their hearts and proves utopia might just be real on Earth after all.
