The rise of Nazi Germany destroyed the Minkowski family; philanthropists and members of Warsaw's elite society before the war. A work opportunity brings French opera conductor Marc Minkowski to the former home of his great-grandparents where he enlists the aid of Polish historians and descendants of the Minkowski family to uncover a buried legacy that helped spare Poland from further devastation.
